Diamondbacks Claim Collin Snider Off Waivers From Royals
12 months agoThe Arizona Diamondbacks claimed right-hander Collin Snider off waivers from the Kansas City Royals on Monday. Snider, a former 12th-round selection out of Vanderbilt by the Royals in 2017, made his big-league debut with the Royals in 2022 and has made 62 relief appearances (54 2/3 innings) for KC the last two seasons. He had a 4.87 ERA (6.01 FIP) and 1.82 WHIP with one save, 13 walks and 11 strikeouts in 20 1/3 innings over 20 outings (one start) in 2023. The 28-year-old has an upper-90s fastball and will open 2024 as organizational relief depth for the reigning National League-champion Diamondbacks. Expect Snider to open the year with Triple-A Reno.
