DeVante Parker Not Spotted At Thursday's Practice
1 year agoNew England Patriots wide receiver DeVante Parker (concussion) was not spotted at practice for the second straight day on Thursday. Parker suffered a concussion in the Week 8 loss to the Miami Dolphins and remains in the NFL's concussion protocol. Given the 30-year-old's previous history with head injuries, it seems likely that he won't be given the green light to suit up in Week 9 against the Washington Commanders. Kendrick Bourne (knee) suffered a season-ending torn ACL last Sunday as well, so the Patriots' struggling offense is expected to move forward with JuJu Smith-Schuster, rookie Demario Douglas and Jalen Reagor as their starters in three-wide sets. Second-year man Tyquan Thornton and rookie Kayshon Boutte should see expanded roles as well.
