Joe Gibbs Racing's Denny Hamlin finished 12th in Sunday's Quaker State 400 at Kentucky Speedway. Hamlin started from the same spot but had an atrocious race. Shades of Martinsville, Hamlin and the No. 11 team just missed it on their setup. Hamlin was barely able to stay on the lead lap at the end of the first stage, and never found the balance he needed to have a competitive race. Outside of Martin Truex Jr., who almost won the race, the rest of JGR just didn't have it today either. In the end, it wasn't the worst finishing result for Hamlin, and it should be expected that he will compete for the win at Texas, next Sunday.--John Pitucci - RotoBaller
