Dennis Smith Jr. Injures Ankle On Saturday Night
2 years agoCharlotte Hornets guard Dennis Smith Jr. (ankle) didn't return to Saturday's loss to the Brooklyn Nets. The 2017 No. 9 overall pick lasted only seven minutes before succumbing to a sprained left ankle. It's unfortunate timing for Smith, primarily since he has averaged 11.6 points, 6.2 assists, and 2.2 steals while shooting 42.9% from deep this season. He might miss time moving ahead, including Monday's game against the Washington Wizards. However, LaMelo Ball (ankle) may be back by the time Smith can return, so his days in the starting lineup are likely over. He still could remain in the rotation, so fantasy managers should hang on to him for now and see how things play out.
