David Dahl Facing Reduction In Playing Time
4 years agoTexas Rangers outfielder David Dahl could see his playing time reduced moving forward, according to Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News. With the recent activation of Khris Davis (quad strain) off the injured list, a domino effect occurred which pushed Willie Calhoun into the outfield. That sent Dahl to the bench and (temporarily) shuffled Eli White to the minors. The emergence of rookie Adolis Garcia in centerfield also played a role in the outfield/designated hitter shuffle. In his first season in Texas after leaving the Colorado Rockies, Dahl is hitting just .210 with a 57 wRC+ through 30 games. A former top prospect, his development has been stalled by injuries and poor plate discipline.
