David Bote, Matt Duffy Starting Rehab Assignments
3 years agoChicago Cubs third baseman David Bote (shoulder) continued to work out last week and is scheduled to begin a minor league rehab assignment this Friday, according to manager David Ross. Infielder Matt Duffy (back) began his rehab assignment on Monday and is eligible for activation from the 60-day injured list on July 22. Bote and Duffy are both reserve infielders for the Cubbies when healthy, limiting their fantasy value to the deepest of leagues. Bote has been out since May 30 with a separated left shoulder. He's hitting just .201 (29-for-144) with five homers and 23 RBI in 2021. Duffy had a setback in his recovery from a lower back strain in June. He's hitting .278 (25-for-90) with a homer, 12 RBI and three steals this year.
