Daulton Varsho Nearing Big-League Return
Daulton Varsho (hamstring) is having his rehab assignment moved from Single-A Dunedin to Triple-A Buffalo and could rejoin the big league club on Monday for their series against the Baltimore Orioles, according to Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet. Varsho has missed time this season due to both shoulder and hamstring ailments, and he last appeared for the Jays on May 31. In exactly 100 plate appearances, he's slashed .207/.240/.543 with eight home runs and 20 RBI. Varsho's speed may be somewhat limited as he works his way back from a hamstring injury, but he was a major power threat before getting hurt. His stellar defense could keep him in the lineup every day, but the Blue Jays also have Nathan Lukes and Myles Straw as centerfield options on the big league roster.
