Darius Slay Injured Late In Loss to Buccaneers
11 months agoPhiladelphia Eagles cornerback Darius Slay (back) was injured late in the fourth quarter in Monday night's wild-card loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and had to be carted to the locker room. Slay got bent awkwardly while trying to make a tackle and then grabbed at the right side of his back. He appeared to be in a lot of pain and could be dealing with a significant injury, but we may not know the extent of it until Monday after he undergoes more tests. The Eagles' season is now over anyway after the 32-9 loss, so Slay will have all offseason to heal up. The 33-year-old had missed the final four games of the regular season due to a knee issue. The five-time Pro Bowler only played 12 games in his fourth year in Philly and finished the regular season with 57 tackles (48 solo), two interceptions (one for a touchdown) and 14 passes defensed.
