Oakland Athletics starting pitcher Daniel Mengden was stellar in a 9-2 win over the Blue Jays Sunday. He pitched seven scoreless innings allowing only two hits and one walk while striking out two batters. He raised his record to 4-4 and lowered his ERA to 3.30. Mengden continues to be a solid innings eater that improves the ratios. An oddity occurred during the game as well; Mengden popped his shoulder out and back into its socket as he was covering the bag in the seventh inning. He stated it isn’t out of the ordinary but he didn’t have to have it popped back in this time. So, it isn’t anything that will affect his next start, which will take place at home against Arizona.--Ellis Canady - RotoBaller
