Damien Williams Should Be OK
3 years agoChicago Bears running back Damien Williams (thigh) suffered a thigh bruise in the Week 4 win over the Detroit Lions and should be OK moving forward, according to a source. In the event David Montgomery (knee) misses a few weeks with a knee injury of his own, Williams would be in line to start for Chicago's backfield. The Bears should at least have Williams as the starter, if needed, for a Week 5 meeting with the Las Vegas Raiders. Rookie Khalil Herbert is the only other running back on Chicago's active roster, with Tarik Cohen (knee) still on the Physically Unable to Perform list. Williams, 29, carried the ball eight times for 55 yards and a touchdown against Detroit. He'd be in the RB3/flex mix against the Raiders if Montgomery is ruled out.
