Carolina Panthers wide receiver Curtis Samuel (illness) has officially been ruled out for Week 1 against the Cowboys. Samuel was never expected to play in the season opener after he had surgery to fix an irregular heartbeat issue. There's a chance he could return in Week 2, but even then he won't be much of a fantasy factor behind Devin Funchess, Torrey Smith, rookie DJ Moore and Jarius Wright.
