Could Bubba Wallace Be A Sneaky Tournament Play For Homestead?
Bubba Wallace of 23XI Racing will start ninth for this week's race at Homestead-Miami Speedway, the Straight Talk Wireless 400. This will mark the third consecutive Homestead race where Wallace will start inside the top 10. In six previous starts at the Miami track, Wallace has one top-10 finish and obtained positive Place Differential twice. With five races completed so far this season, Wallace has two top-20 finishes, but also led in three different Cup events. In practice for Sunday's race, Wallace ranked first in overall lap averages as well as 10 and 15 consecutive lap averages. As one of the fastest drivers in practice with low upside from his starting position, Wallace should be considered for all tournament lineups as someone who can compete for a top-5 finish.
