Corey Kluber Has Resumed Throwing
3 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Corey Kluber (shoulder) has continued a flat-ground throwing program in addition to physical therapy, but he hasn't advanced beyond playing catch up to 75 feet. General manager Brian Cashman said that the team doesn't expect Kluber to return until September, but the team is confident that the veteran right-hander will return this season. The Yankees are taking it cautiously with him after he's made just 18 starts in the last three seasons due to injury. The 35-year-old had been effective in his first season with the Yankees before suffering the injury, though, recording a 3.04 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and a 9.3 K/9 in 53 1/3 innings over 10 starts. The bad news is Kluber won't be able to give fantasy managers that are stashing him many more starts in 2021 when he does return.
