Cooper Kupp 2024 Outlook: Potential League Winner In The 3rd Or 4th Round?
3 months agoCooper Kupp spent all of 2021 gashing defenses on his way to a Triple Crown, beating every type of coverage and seemingly every DB in the NFL en route to a Super Bowl win and MVP. 2022 looked like much of the same until Kupp suffered a high ankle sprain in November and missed the rest of the season. Since then, Kupp has dealt with a rash of recurring injuries, including his ankle sprain, nerve issues, and hamstring problems. Though Kupp had an inconsistent season in 2023, both Kupp and McVay have openly admitted that Kupp was playing through multiple bad injuries, and the tape reveals he was hobbled for the entire season. Kupp still produced well in many games despite this, which is a sign that when healthy he can still put up huge numbers. Though he will share the field with fellow star WR Puka Nacua, Kupp could return to No. 1 target status, and with Matthew Stafford continuing to play at a high level, Kupp could put together a massive season. Kupp is 31 years old, but typically elite players at all positions tend to fall off more slowly than average, and given Kupp's complete understanding of defenses, route running, and everything needed to be an elite WR at the NFL, Kupp has a big chance of delivering WR1 numbers when he plays. The Triple Crown winner of 2021 has an ADP of around WR16, which is a bargain, especially in full PPR. Kupp has potentially the highest ceiling of any WR in the NFL if he can return to even 90% of his previous form. He should be a priority in drafts this season.
