Washington Capitals right wing Connor Brown (lower body) has been placed on Injured Reserve and will be out long-term. The former Senator was injured on Monday against Vancouver and there's a possibility that he will need to undergo surgery. The Capitals already have one major absentee on the right wing with Tom Wilson (knee). Wilson's absence allowed Brown to open the season on the top line, but he couldn't get much done, going pointless in four games and registering only two shots on goal with a minus-three rating. Conor Sheary is the next man up and will join Alex Ovechkin and Lars Eller on the first line Thursday against Ottawa. Aliaksei Protas will also see top-six minutes as Evgeny Kuznetsov serves a one-game suspension.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
