The Washington Commanders announced on Wednesday that they signed free-agent defensive end Clelin Ferrell to an undisclosed deal. Ferrell was drafted by the Las Vegas Raiders in 2019 in the first round (fourth overall) out of Clemson and spent his first four years with the Black and Silver before recording 28 tackles (15 solo), 3.5 sacks, six tackles for loss, 13 QB hits, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in 17 regular-season starts in 2023 with the San Francisco 49ers. The 26-year-old wasn't available for the team's Super Bowl run due to a knee injury, but he should be healthy for the start of the 2024 regular season this fall in D.C. Ferrell will provide defensive-line depth for the Commanders after producing 133 career tackles (73 solo), 13.5 sacks, 21 tackles for loss, 45 QB hits, 12 passes defended, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in 75 games (47 starts) over his five NFL seasons.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
