Cody Bradford To Start Against Angels Tuesday
1 year agoTexas Rangers rookie left-hander Cody Bradford is being called up from Triple-A Round Rock to make the start on Tuesday against the division-rival Los Angeles Angels. Bradford will make a spot start for the injured Jon Gray, who is dealing with a blister issue on his finger. This will be only Bradford's third major-league start after he allowed eight runs on 12 hits while walking three and striking out eight in 10 innings in his first two starts against the Braves and Orioles in May. The team's No. 26 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, has gone 8-1 with a 1.82 ERA, 0.93 WHIP, 14 walks and 50 K's in 59 1/3 frames over 10 starts at Round Rock this year. The 25-year-old southpaw doesn't have overpowering stuff, but he knows how to pitch and keep hitters off balance. Bradford will be a shaky streaming option in fantasy against the hot Angels on just three days of rest.
