Clemson wide receiver Justyn Ross (foot) announced at the NFL scouting combine on Wednesday that he is medically cleared for football activities. While Ross will only do the bench press at the combine -- and be put through individual medical evaluations -- this is a big step for one of the draft's most intriguing prospects. Ross burst onto the scene as a true freshman in 2008 with 1,000 yards receiving and nine touchdowns on 21.7 yards per catch. He struggled early in 2019 before being forced to sit out after it was discovered (after suffering a stinger) that he was born with a congenital fusion in his spine. He was able to return in 2021 but suffered a stress fracture in his foot. One of the highest-ceiling receivers in the draft, he could emerge as a real sleeper if his medical evaluations check out.--Eric SamulskiRead More News
