Chris Sale Traded To The Atlanta Braves
12 months agoThe Atlanta Braves have acquired starting pitcher Chris Sale in a trade with the Boston Red Sox, according to Jeff Passan of ESPN.com. Passan also noted that Vaughn Grissom, a talented infield prospect, is heading to Boston as part of the return. Sale put up a 4.30 ERA, 1.130 WHIP, and 125:29 K/BB ratio over 102 2/3 innings with the Red Sox last season and waived his no-trade clause to complete the deal. The 34-year-old southpaw has one year left on his deal and Boston is covering the majority of his $27.5 million salary. Sale looked sharp at times in 2023 but battled injuries, which limited him to just 20 starts. Atlanta serves as a fantastic landing spot for the veteran starter, however, and he could provide plenty of fantasy value if he can manage to stay healthy, which is always a big concern with him.
