Chris Sale Likely To Start Friday
1 year agoBoston Red Sox manager Alex Cora said that left-hander Chris Sale (shoulder) will likely return from the 60-day injured list to start on Friday against the visiting Detroit Tigers. Sale made only two minor-league rehab appearances for Triple-A Worcester, so fantasy managers should not be expecting him to go very deep into Friday's game in his first big-league start since June 1. The 34-year-old southpaw should still be rostered in all fantasy leagues for his strikeout upside when healthy, and he was able to fan seven batters while walking one in 4 1/3 scoreless innings in his final rehab start. Sale is attempting to return from a stress reaction in his left scapula. The oft-injured hurler has gone 5-2 on the year with a 4.58 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 71 strikeouts in 59 innings (11 starts).
