Chris Bassett Dazzles Against Arizona
4 years agoOakland Athletics starter Chris Bassitt rebounded nicely in his start against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday. Bassitt led the A's to a 5-2 victory striking out six across seven innings while earning the victory. After his shortest start of the season in Seattle his last time through the rotation, going only four innings, Bassitt once again provided much-needed length for Oakland. Christian Walker took him deep in the second inning, but outside of this one blemish, Bassitt was nearly untouchable. Only a seventh-inning sacrifice fly by Josh Reddick could account for any more Diamondback runs, as with Oakland scoring all five of their runs in the fourth inning, the right-handed star successfully held Arizona at bay. Quietly holding down a 3.44 ERA and 1.01 WHIP, Bassitt a league-winning asset who provides consistent and reliable stability. Fantasy managers would be wise to target him in midseason trades.
