Chigoziem Okonkwo Needs To Improve Blocking
1 year agoTennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel said that tight end Chigoziem Okonkwo need to improve his blocking. Okonkwo has been working on his blocking this offseason, but apparently it's not to the point where Vrabel is satisfied. As a pass-catcher, Okonkwo was extremely efficient in his first NFL season in 2022, catching 32 of his 46 targets for 450 yards and three touchdowns in 17 games (eight starts). In a Titans offense that should remain run-heavy as long as running back Derrick Henry is around, Okonkwo's playing time could suffer if his blocking skills aren't up to par. There's still a lot to like about the 23-year-old. He's on the TE1/2 borderline and will be a popular streaming option in his second NFL campaign.
