Chase Elliott had an up and down afternoon at the Verizon 200. He led 14 laps, looked to be near victory and then a crucial pit-stop error derailed things just enough. In the end, the No. 9 car had to battle for a fourth-place result. Elliott finished just behind teammate Kyle Larson. It was a 3-4 result which was expected to be a 1-2 scenario. That was not meant to be. Elliott survived the bumps and did get airborne once or twice but handled that part brilliantly. The top Hendricks Motorsports Racing cars were probably the best performing vehicles on the afternoon but sometimes it is more about circumstance than anything else. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
