5 years agoColorado Rockies outfielder Charlie Blackmon spent the vast majority of last season as the team's leadoff man, and manager Bud Black is well aware of how Blackmon hits out of that spot. Once September rolled around though, Blackmon was shifted back in a regular rotation between 2nd, 3rd, and 4th position in the batting order. So far, it looks like Black is liking that approach for this season as well. Blackmon has recently hit in the 3rd slot for a few spring games, and Black told reporters that the team was playing with the idea of having David Dahl or Garrett Hampson hit up top instead. If Blackmon can return to hitting further down the order, he could see a bump in RBI opportunities this season.--Billy Stonick - RotoBaller
