Charlie Blackmon Could Be Traded
5 years agoColorado Rockies outfielder Charlie Blackmon has been one of the most electric players in the league this season, but there are rumors swirling that he could leave town at the trade deadline. The bottom has fallen out recently for the Rockies as they've plummeted in the standings, so they may have possibly become sellers at this point. Blackmon just turned 33 years old, and when compared to the likes of Nolan Arenado, Trevor Story, and the other up-and-coming boppers on the roster, Blackmon's age stands out. That said, a move to almost anywhere would likely be terrible for Blackmon's fantasy value. As with most Rockies hitters, Blackmon hits better at home, and it's extreme. Blackmon's hitting .415 at home while just .237 on the road with more than three times as many homers in Denver than elsewhere. This is even though he's actually racked up 30 more at-bats on the road. It's just rumors right now and a move seems highly unlikely, but owners should cross their fingers that this is just smoke.
