CC Sabathia Injured In Game 4 Of ALCS
5 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher CC Sabathia left his outing early in Game 4 of the American League Championship Series against the Astros on Thursday after appearing to aggravate his knee injury during a pitch. The future Hall of Fame left-hander announced before the season that 2019 would be his last, so Thursday's game will likely end up being his last as a professional. Sabathia left visibly upset but received a classy standing ovation from Yankees fans and Astros players alike. If this is it, the 39-year-old will finish with 251 wins, a 3.74 ERA, 7.8 K/9 and 3,093 strikeouts in 3,577 1/3 innings over 560 career starts. He's been with the Yankees the last 11 years. He's a six-time All-Star and won a Cy Young in 2007 with the Indians.
