Carter Jensen Rips Three Extra-Base Hits on Saturday
Carter Jensen continued to flex his power at Triple-A Omaha on Saturday, going 3-for-5 with a double, a triple, and a home run. The Royals' second-ranked prospect also collected a pair of RBI and scored twice in the contest. The 22-year-old is hitting .263 (29-for-110) during his 30 games for the Storm Chasers, with 11 of his hits going for singles and the other 18 going for extra bases. Between Double-A and Triple-A this season, the 6-foot backstop is slashing .284/.364/.835 with 15 home runs and nine stolen bases. With a healthy Salvador Perez, there is no rush to get Jensen to the big leagues, as you'd rather have him hitting at Triple-A than sitting on the bench in the majors, but with the way he is swinging, he could be the first bat the team calls up in September when rosters expand. Either way, Jensen is looking like the catcher of the future for Kansas City, so even redraft managers should be prepared to consider rostering him in 2026 and beyond.
