Carlos Santana Goes Yard Friday Night
1 year agoPittsburgh Pirates first baseman Carlos Santana continued his recent power surge by going 2-for-4 with a home run, an RBI and two runs scored in Friday night's 5-4 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers. Santana only has six long balls on the year, but two of them have come in the last three games and half have come in June. The 37-year-old left-handed-hitting first baseman is hitting .239 (11-for-46) with a double, three homers, 10 RBI and eight runs scored in 12 games so far in June. He continues to hit in the heart of Pittsburgh's batting order and can offer fantasy managers in deep-mixed and NL-only leagues modest counting stats across the board. Santana is currently slashing .229/.316/.377 with six homers, 34 RBI, five steals and 28 runs scored in 61 games.
