Carlos Rodon Seeking A Six-Year Deal
2 years agoFree-agent left-hander Carlos Rodon is reportedly seeking a six-year deal in his talks with interested teams, and he could secure a deal around $30 million per year. The New York Yankees have been in contact with Rodon, but it's unclear at the moment if they would be in for around that kind of commitment to strengthen the top of their rotation next to Gerrit Cole. Rodon is the consensus top starter left on the open market after Jacob deGrom and Justin Verlander signed deals with new teams in recent days. The 29-year-old southpaw has been an All-Star the last two years with the Chicago White Sox and San Francisco Giants and has managed to stay healthy. He went 14-8 with a 2.88 ERA (league-best 2.25 FIP), a 1.03 WHIP, a career-high 237 K's and 52 walks in 178 innings over 31 starts in 2022.
