Cardinals Activate Dylan Carlson Friday
3 years agoThe St. Louis Cardinals activated outfielder Dylan Carlson (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list on Friday and optioned outfielder Lars Nootbaar to Triple-A Memphis in a corresponding move. Carlson went 5-for-13 with a home run, four RBI and four runs scored in four minor league rehab games with Double-A Springfield and Memphis, and he should return to an everyday role in St. Louis' outfield now that he's back. The 23-year-old got off to a terrible start for the Cardinals this year and was demoted from the leadoff spot quickly, but he was much better in May, hitting .314/.351/.486 with an .837 OPS, two home runs and seven RBI in 20 games. Grab him immediately if he was dropped by his previous owner and remains available in your league.
