2 years agoPhiladelphia Flyers right wing Cam Atkinson (upper body) missed another practice on Monday, but he is on track to play in the team's season opener on Thursday against New Jersey. Atkinson has been absent from practice since the final week of September and he didn't play in any of the team's preseason games. But Flyers head coach John Tortorella has said that he's optimistic about Atkinson's chances to feature against the Devils and the 33-year-old winger is expected to join the team in Wednesday's practice. Atkinson was one of only a few Flyers players who actually managed to do decent during a miserable 2021-22 campaign, notching 23 goals and 50 points in 73 outings.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
