C.J. Stroud Impressing Coaches Early On
2 years agoHouston Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans said that rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud has "done an excellent job" early on during organized team activities. It's good to see Stroud making a strong impression early on, but the Texans won't determine their starting signal-caller until training camp or after. Davis Mills saw the first repetitions at Tuesday's practice and is still technically fighting for the starting job in Week 1 of the regular season. The Texans also have veteran journeyman Case Keenum around. Stroud, the second overall pick in the draft, may not be the starter out of the gate in his rookie season, but he's fully expected to start the majority of Houston's games this year. The 21-year-old has plenty of long-term upside, but his fantasy value will most likely be limited in Year 1.
