Brusdar Graterol's Medicals Holding Up Blockbuster Trade
5 years agoThe Boston Red Sox, after reviewing the medical records of Minnesota Twins right-handed pitching prospect Brusdar Graterol, project him more as a reliever than as a starter, according to sources involved with the talks. As such, it's holding up the reported three-team blockbuster deal involving the Twins, Red Sox and Dodgers that will send outfielder Mookie Betts and starting pitcher David Price to the Dodgers. Officials remain confident the deal will get done, but perhaps not in its original reported form. Boston might ask for an additional player and/or money to bridge the gap, but it's unclear if the player would come from the Twins or Dodgers. Graterol is Minnesota's No. 3 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, but he may be staying with the Twins after all. Stay tuned for more on this developing situation.
