Broncos Acquire Pass-Rusher Jacob Martin
2 years agoThe Denver Broncos acquired pass-rusher Jacob Martin and a fifth-round pick in 2024 from the New York Jets on Tuesday in exchange for a fourth-rounder in 2024, according to a source. Martin is one of several players that is expected to fill the void left by outside linebacker Bradley Chubb, who was traded to the Miami Dolphins at Tuesday's deadline. The 26-year-old should see a significant role on Denver's defensive line right away, at least until Randy Gregory and Baron Browning are able to return from injuries. Martin, a former sixth-rounder by the Seattle Seahawks in 2018 out of Temple, had just eight tackles (three solo), 1.5 sacks and a forced fumble in eight games with the Jets this year before the trade. He has 15 career sacks in five NFL seasons.
