Brian Thomas Jr. A Flex Option With Upside Against Miami
3 months agoJacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. has the talent to be a great value in fantasy, which could be kickstarted in a good Week 1 matchup against the Miami Dolphins. BTJ flashed his big-play ability in preseason, which he will hope translates to regular season games. As the 23rd pick in the draft, the rookie WR has high expectations, but fantasy managers shouldn't be surprised if he starts slow. Historically, rookie wide receivers in fantasy start slowly and pick up steam after their bye week. While the Jacksonville bye week isn't until Week 12, managers should still be extremely patient with the LSU product. He has the upside of being a league winner at the end of the season, so if he starts slow, that shouldn't deter his fantasy managers. BTJ, however, can silence the slow start talk with a big Week 1, even if on limited touches, just as Kansas City Chiefs rookie wideout Xavier Worthy did on Thursday night. Fantasy managers may want to play it safe and wait to insert BTJ into their starting lineup, but don't be surprised if he has one or two big plays that inflate his final fantasy total.
