Brewers Acquire Rowdy Tellez
3 years agoThe Milwaukee Brewers are acquiring first baseman Rowdy Tellez from the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday in exchange for right-hander Trevor Richards, according to sources. Tellez has hit just .209/.272/.338 with four home runs and eight RBI in 50 games for Toronto this year, but he's been in Triple-A since June 22. The 26-year-old left-handed hitter had gone 14-for-47 (.298) with four home runs and 11 RBI in 13 games for Triple-A Buffalo since being sent down. He has some pop from the left side and will provide the Brewers with some valuable first base depth with Daniel Vogelbach on the injured list. Tellez could steal some playing time away from Keston Hiura at the cold corner against right-handed pitching.
