Brad Peacock Throwing Changeup
Brad Peacock, who has bounced around as a starter and reliever in recent seasons, has started using a changeup this year. He discovered the changeup grip of Hall of Fame closer Trevor Hoffman and started experimenting with it. Peacock has primarily been a fastball-slider guy, and his slider wasn't very effective toward the end of last season. He also became too reliant on his slider, throwing it 40.2 percent of the time. The 31-year-old right-hander is competing for the fifth and final rotation spot in spring training and could be a sneaky late-round flier in deep mixed formats if he wins the job.
