Brad Keller Goes Eight Innings In Longest Start Of Year
6 years agoDespite earning his eighth loss on the season, Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Brad Keller had a solid outing on Saturday. He pitched eight innings while allowing five hits, one walk and two earned runs, striking out four. This was the second straight quality start for Keller that ended in a loss. Keller entered Saturday's game with a 15.7% strikeout rate and an abysmal 1.29 strikeout-to-walk rate. He now has a 4.29 ERA on the year, which isn't terrible, but he doesn't help you enough anywhere else to dignify it. Plus, the lack of support from the Royals offense doesn't inspire much confidence that his 3-8 record will turn around soon. He should be left on waivers in all leagues, worth the occasional fill-in start given the right matchup if you're in a pinch in deep and AL-only leagues.
