Blaze Jordan Highlights BoSox's Final Picks In 2020
5 years agoThe Boston Red Sox selected DeSoto Central High School third baseman Blaze Jordan with the 89th overall pick in the third round in the 2020 MLB draft on Thursday. Boston proceeded to select Hawaii left-handed pitcher Jeremy Wu-Yelland in the fourth round and Florida State lefty pitcher Shane Drohan in the fifth and final round. When you think of raw power for a high-schooler, Jordan's name pops up first. But the 17-year-old sometimes struggles with swings and misses and most scouts think he'll eventually move to first base. Wu-Yelland lacked buzz before the draft but emerged as Hawaii's ace the last two seasons. Drohan can hit 95 mph with his fastball and gets a lot of swings and misses because of his deception. He has more upside than a typical college left-hander and should be able to repeat his delivery at the next level.
