Toronto Maple Leafs center Auston Matthews has agreed to a four-year extension with the club, signing a $53 million deal. He is now tied with the team through the 2027-28 season, and the new contract is a historic one in terms of its value, as Matthews will have the highest-ever cap hit in the NHL with $13.25 million. Matthews has been incredible for Toronto through the years and fantasy managers alike, scoring 299 goals and notching 542 points in 481 regular-season games. In seven seasons in the league, the 25-year-old sniper has recorded five 40-goal campaigns and he boasts two Rocket Richard Trophy wins as the league's top goal-scorer, along with the 2022 Hart Trophy as the 2021-22 regular-season MVP.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
