The Houston Astros selected Mount Saint Michael Academy pitcher Alex Santos II with the 72nd overall pick in the second round in the 2020 MLB draft on Thursday. Punished for the sign-stealing scandal, this was Houston's first pick in the 2020 draft. A Bronx native, Santos is tall and projectable at 6-foot-3, 185 pounds, and could have a solid three-pitch mix. But like a lot of high school right-handed arms, he's raw. This 18-year-old is mostly projection, but he also showed that he can pitch without his best stuff. The Astros will have to be patient here, but this is an exciting high-ceiling high school arm.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
