San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said that defensive lineman Arik Armstead (knee) sprained his MCL in training camp practice and will be out for a few weeks. His knee injury isn't considered serious, so Armstead still has a chance to be ready for Week 1. The 28-year-old former first-round selection had a career-high 63 tackles (29 solo), six sacks, seven tackles for loss and 11 QB hits in 17 starts in his seventh season with the Niners. He's been extremely durable for the team's defensive line, playing full seasons each of the last four years.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
