Anthony Alfredo participated in Daytona 500 Duel Race No. 2 as an open entry for Beard Motorsports and their No. 62 Chevrolet. Alfredo began the race from the 20th position and mostly ran towards the back and middle parts of the pack earlier in the race. The No. 62 Chevrolet was kept clean throughout the entire event, even as Alfredo avoided a multi-car incident later on lap 47. Alfredo attempted to make moves late to gain positions and catch up to Corey LaJoie, the top open car in the top 10. Still, Alfredo did not have the speed to get there, as he placed 13th, the second-highest finishing position of the open cars. Alfredo will miss the Daytona 500 this year and instead will focus on racing the Xfinity Series race at Daytona, driving for Young's Motorsports in the No. 42 Chevrolet.--Sean Engel - RotoBaller
