Andrew Benintendi Unlikely To Return Before Playoffs
2 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Andrew Benintendi (hand, wrist) said "it's pretty safe to say the regular season is out" for his return to the team. Benintendi is hoping to be part of the team's postseason roster, but he's not sure yet when he'll resume swinging a bat. The 28-year-old suffered a broken hamate bone and had surgery to fix it earlier this month. Fantasy managers will be without him the rest of the way in 2022, so he should have already been dropped to the waiver wire in single-year leagues. In 33 games with the Yankees after being acquired from the Kansas City Royals, the first-time All-Star hit .254/.331/.404 with two home runs, 12 RBI, 14 runs scored and four stolen bases.
