Amir Garrett Activated Monday
3 years agoThe Cincinnati Reds activated relief pitcher Amir Garrett from the paternity list on Monday and optioned infielder Alejo Lopez to Triple-A Louisville in a corresponding move. Garrett was the most attractive fantasy option from the Reds bullpen to begin the 2021 season, but that certainly isn't the case as things stand now. The 29-year-old left-hander has been extremely inconsistent with a 6.75 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and seven saves in 30 2/3 innings for the Reds this year. While Garrett could see the occasional save chance now that he's back, Heath Hembree, who has recorded the team's last two saves, is the better option in redraft leagues. Tejay Antone and Lucas Sims are making their way back from injury, too, and they could both bump Garrett further down the bullpen depth chart when they're healthy.
