Alexander Mattison's Pass Catching Upside Makes Him Startable In Deep-Leagues
3 months agoLas Vegas Raiders running back Alexander Mattison showcased his valuable role in the Raiders offense (as valuable as a role in that backfield can be) when he was targeted six times in Week 1, catching four passes for 43 yards and a touchdown. He will try to keep things rolling in a tough matchup against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 2. Mattison showed to be a capable receiving back, slipping multiple tackles on his way to the end zone. Mattison is likely a better fantasy back than Zamir White, given that he will see more snaps when the Raiders are losing games, and they're likely to be trailing in most games. The Raiders have a brutal remaining schedule, starting with the Baltimore Ravens in Week 2. Mattison could see significant targets in garbage time, especially if the Ravens get good pressure and QB Gardner Minshew II needs to throw checkdowns. Mattison is a borderline flex player in full-PPR formats and is ranked 111th among all flex plays in Week 2.
