Pittsburgh Penguins forward Alex Galchenyuk was placed on injured reserve on Thursday. The 25-year-old is currently dealing with a lingering lower-body injury that had previously sidelined him for a week during the preseason before flailing up again following Tuesday's loss to the Jets. Acquired from the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for winger Phil Kessel over the offseason, Galchenyuk made a considerable impact in his first three games with his new organization - notching a pair of assists, six shots and eight blocks while averaging 16:43 of ice time. Fantasy owners will be hoping for a quick recovery as Galchenyuk should jump back into a prominent role in a depleted Penguin's lineup when he returns.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller
