Alex Cobb Might Not Be Ready For Opening Day
2 years agoSan Francisco Giants starting pitcher Alex Cobb (knee) might not be ready to go on Opening Day. Cobb hasn't pitched in a Cactus League game since taking a comebacker off his knee on March 11, which now puts his status for Opening Day on March 30 in jeopardy. The good news for fantasy managers is that if Cobb does start the regular season on the injured, he probably won't be on it for too long. The 35-year-old right-hander has made four spring starts and has a 4.15 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, 18 strikeouts and only two walks in 13 innings pitched. Health remains a concern for Cobb, and although he's not a sexy name in fantasy, he's worth rostering as a streamer in deeper leagues in a great home venue for pitchers.
