Newly acquired defenseman Alec Martinez scored a goal and added an assist (and was a plus-three) as the Vegas Golden Knights defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning by a score of 5-3. The victory by Vegas snapped Tampa Bay’s 11-game win streak. Martinez had just one goal and eight points in 41 games with the Kings prior to the trade. Mark Stone had a goal and an assist to bring his points total to 59 through 62 games. Max Pacioretty is just one point behind his teammate this season after also adding a goal and a helper. Paul Stastny found the back of the net for the first time in seven games. He’s three away from having his first 20-goal season in seven years. Tough guy Ryan Reaves scored his seventh goal and also provided seven hits. Steven Stamkos scored two goals in the losing effort. He has 11 goals over his past 10 games and is one away from 30 for the season.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
