Alec Bohm Cleared To Return From COVID-19 Injured List
3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm has been cleared to return from the COVID-19 injured list, according to manager Joe Girardi. Bohn is in New York with the team but has to work himself back into baseball shape before he's reinstated to the active roster. It's good news for Bohm, but he might not be back in the starting lineup for another couple days. The 24-year-old third baseman tested positive for COVID-19 just before the All-Star break and has been sidelined ever since. It remains to be seen if it'll affect his production at the plate, but Bohm hadn't exactly been tearing the cover off the ball in the first half, slashing .243/.298/.343 with six home runs, 41 RBI and four stolen bases in 329 plate appearances. The good news is Bohm should return to an everyday role at the hot corner once he's back in baseball shape. Ronald Torreyes, who has been filling in at third recently, will go back to a bench role.
